Planning Meeting

Greetings, Team!

The next meeting of the Social and Special Activities Committees will be:

All members are invited! Please bring your ideas and enthusiasm and help shape the future activities of the Club.

Please plan to join us for what promises to be a fun-filled evening. 

The different venue allows us to have a special holiday get- together, to discuss events

already scheduled, brainstorm some new ideas, and mostly to get into the holiday

spirit by planning the decorations and setup for the Gator Holiday Party on December 10th.

 

I hope all of you are planning to attend the Holiday Pary, especially since the price was slashed 

to just $30 for Members and $35 for guests, thanks to the generosity of Sharon Long.   

 

Deb and Dorothy are handling the decorations, and can use some help!

 

The table decorations will follow the theme you have seen on the flyers and website,

of beautifully wrapped gift boxes (see attachedment).  We plan to stack about 3 boxes, 

enough to make a centerpiece about 8 to 10 inches tall, for each table.  We currently 

have 22 boxes, but will need 14 to 20 more.  If you have a box or two, about 9" x 12" in size, 

please bring them to the meeting.  You may notice that Cracker Boxes are about that size 

and would work nicely.  Other boxes, 6" squares or 8 " rectangles  of heights varying from 

4 to 6 inches.   Use your imagination and bring what you can. 

 

The following are  approved socials and activities on the calendar through December:

Dec. 10                       Gator Holiday Party (Social)

Dec. 12                       Ft. Lauderdale Boat Parade (Special Activities)

Dec. 31                       Deadline for purchasing ticket to Kravis, "MOTOWN, THE  MUSICAL!" (Social)

 

The new year 2016 is filled with exciting activities and trips.  Our club ski trips go out in January, 

and we are looking to fill-in with a few smaller events.  The following are some of the socials and 

special activities  in the planning stage.  Please let us know if you would like to be event leader 

on any of these! 

 

Jan. 17 - Spectator Event at Polo International Center (Social)

Jan. or Feb. - Trirail to Bayside Miami, Day Trip - Special Activities

Jan. or Feb. - Murder Mystery Night (Social)

 

Don't forget the bike rides that are scheduled each month; details available on website!

 

Please mark your calendar for Dec. 1st.  The meeting is a little more than one week away, 

closely following Thanksgiving.

 

We hope each of you has a very Happy Thanksgiving!  

 

We can't wait to see everyone at Carmine's Ocean Grill on Tuesday, Dec. 1st!
