Meet 10 AM Sat Feb 8 2014 at Yamato road and I 95 at the Tri-Rail station. parking lot .Look for Gator sign on brown van and familiar faces .... Ride will be on paths and light traffic roads ... maybe 10 miles @ 8-10 mph. There is a tunnel under I 95 to FAU. Afterwards eat lunch at Boca Ale House 1 mile west of starting point. .Bring water,sunscreen and bike lock. and $$$$....Don't forget you Gator shirts and beads and name tags....Eileen Long will be the guest leader for this ride.
Eileen's notes: I estimate that the whole bike ride would be 10.5 miles. Points of interest are:
- Biking on the El Rio Trail (2.5 miles each way with most of the ride without traffic, except for crossing Spanish River Blvd.) includes going south from the Tri-rail station and following the canal through PBSU Boca Raton Campus and FAU
- Biking around the FAU campus - the brand-new FAU Stadium is on the ride around the perimeter of campus (2.5 miles around campus)
- Biking through the Technology Park to the Boca Raton Library and small lake, then to Boca Ale House for lunch and beer, and then about 1 mile back to the Tri-rail station
