The Palm Beach Gator Snow Ski Club is a group of active, fun-loving, sports-minded people who live in sunny South Florida (mainly Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast), but also share a love for winter activities. Our founding fathers adopted the alligator logo because of its association with South Florida. They did not intend to emulate any University or College.

Message from Kelly Lunsford, President

As we move into the fall season, we hope that you are healthy and have enjoyed your summer.  As we move into our busier time of the year and move forward with our ski season and other activities, this has definitely been a challenging time for our Club.

Our ski trips are selling, as well as other trips including Scotland/Ireland, Grand Canyon and a few others in the pipes for 2021.   Several of the trips are already sold out.   We will continue to follow guidelines and put the safety of travelers and members first.  As things continue to look better, we may add more activities and trips.  For now, our happy hours are scheduled outdoors and at the General Meetings we are able to social distance.  We have several outdoor activities in the pipeline including bike rides, full moon happy hours and kayak/canoe trips.

I am looking forward to seeing you at some of the events and excited about returning to the slopes.

Kelly Lunsford, President

Sign Up for 2021 Ski Trips On-Line!

Hi Gators,

Sign-ups are going well under these difficult conditions. We are operating under the assumption that we will have a full ski season, I believe other trips will sell out including Jackson Hole and Mammoth. Copper is a great chance to get slowly back into skiing or to try it for the first time. The outlay is minor compared to week long trips and if you don't like it there are still many other activities to enjoy. Telluride travelers don't forget you have any opportunity to extend you ski vacation by starting out your trip in Copper for 3 "Get ready for the Season" days then a full week at the major FSC trip in Telluride. Anyone signed up for Telluride still have time and space to add Copper to their trip. Our European trip is going well and will be spectacular with 7 days in Solden, Austria, for great skiing then 3 nights in Berlin, Germany's capital. offering amazing sights and striking history. We look forward to getting your trip applications.

That is our season. 2021 will be an outstanding year for skiing so check out the flyers and talk to the trip leaders. See you on the slopes.

To All Ski Trip and Special Activities Participants:

Trips are reaching their drop dates and soon will have to drop any places not sold. If you want to go skiing in 2021, you need to make your arrangements now.

In addition, payment to vendors are coming due and trip leaders need their participants to make their payments on a timely manner to avoid the chance of being replaced on the trip.

If making a payment is difficult, talk to your trip leader and let them know and work out a schedule with them to remain on the trip. It is essential to let your trip leader know what your intentions are and if you need extra time.

We are a club and want to work with our members, but have payment deadlines so we can make our vendor payments in a timely manner. Please be open and honest with your trip leaders. Some people don't understand that we are a club and our trips are based on receiving payments from the members for the trips they sign up for.

We do not have the ability to do our trips without payments made by participants in a timely manner.

A final note - ski season isn't that far away and it is time to get ready by having an exercise routine and working out regularly to be in shape for your trip.

To all - stay safe, healthy and happy. THINK SNOW!

Message from Walter Marussich, VP of  Special Activities

Hi Gators,

1.   Activities  open to Guests and Public:

Often the question arises whether or not you need to be a member to participate in an overnight trip. The answer can be confusing. So let us start with the club charter which allows members to have guests.

Due to liability issues, however:

  • All overseas trips and trips where the Club provides transportation (air and/or ground) require that everyone be a member.
  • Meet-up style activities, those where you book your hotel - you get there on your own, do permit guest so long as they are bona fide guests.  That is, at least one member of your party is a club member.
  • Activities open to the public require board action unless already allowed by our bylaws such as general membership meetings.

Remember, even though the club offers many activities and services such as trips, we are not a retail store open to the general public.   We are a not-for-profit organization that answers to our membership.

In the  future, I will endeavor to identify activities that are open to the public, or where guests are permitted.

2.  Club sponsors:

Do you have a message? Do you need to advertise your business?  Do you just want some deserved recognition?

The Gator Snow Ski Club offers you the opportunity do display the your message in our sponsors page. Depending on the size of your message, a suggested  donation is expected in order to  help support  our website expenses.

The board must approve your message.  No vulgar, defamatory statements or language detrimental to the club or its members will be permitted.

Walter Marussich, VP Special Activities
