    "MOTOWN, THE MUSICAL"

Thirty-four  lucky Gators and Friends had tickets to the Tony-Award-Winning Production of "Motown, The Musical."  The performance, part of the Kravis Broadway Series, was a Matinee Performance, Saturday, Feb. 13th, from 2 to 5 p.m.  We had premium seating in Rows B and C of the Loge Section of the theater.  Comments from our groups:  "Outstanding performance!"  "Great set design and staging!"  "Loved hearing all the old favorites of the Motown sound!"  About 18 of us continued the celebration with an after-party at the Marriott Bistro Restaurant.

Thanks, Robert Bruno, for leading this event ... great job!

    SUNDAY BRUNCH AND POLO

    FEB. 28TH, 2016

It was a beautiful day at International Polo Club! Our reserved seating in the Lily Pulitzer Pavilion gave us a perfect view of the polo match.  Our group went out to take part in "stomping the divots," a time-honored tradition at polo events.  It was a close match that ended up going into overtime.  The Champagne reception and very lavish gourmet buffet were all part of the experience.  Eggs Benedict, omelet station, roast beef, prime rib, endless desserts (my fav was strawberry gelato), bacon wrapped dates, cheese blintz ... on and on.  I was only sad I couldn't try it all!!  Definitely something the Gators should add to our "worth repeating" events.

    Winter Equestrian Festival 2016

    JANUARY 23RD

    Palm Beach International Equestrian Center

    Wellington, FL

What an exciting day for the group who attended the Winter Equestrian Festival!

Despite temperatures only reaching about 60 degrees and wind gusts of 28 mph, everyone who signed up ... showed up.  Here we are, bundled up and ready for the adventure.

Our tour guide, Barbara Lang, was an experienced equestrian and shared many back stories about what goes into dressage and hunter/jumper competitions.  Lunch at the Tiki Restaurant was exceptional.  Our seating on a deck facing the International Ring had a perfect view of the riders performing there.  And, almost miraculously, our tables were buffered from the wind and the sun came out to warm us.

The Winter Equestrian Festival attracts more than 3000 horses and 2800 riders from 49 states and 30 countries, making it the largest equestrian competition in the world. The Winter Equestrian Festival is where the U.S.  Equestrian Team is forged and, this being an Olympic year, many Olympic hopefuls come here to qualify.  It is said that British Royalty is often among the spectators at these world-class events.   If so, we didn't see them.  Perhaps they too were bundled up and unrecognizable,  as we were!

    NEW YEAR'S EVE AT BETTY'S

Betty Williams once again opened her beautiful home for a Gators New Years Eve Party!  A great time was had by all who enjoyed an abundant feast. Each of us brought something to the table to share.  Some of my favorites were Doc Scheer's Elk Sausage, the result of his recent hunting adventure, and Bill Lobb's famous roast pork!  Thank you, Betty, for your generous hospitality and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our gator family.

    Warmest Regards,

A great time was had by all, thanks to the efforts of  Santa's Helpers who worked  diligently to create a wonderland that added joy and happiness to the holiday season:

      27 Nov 2015 - Singer Island

KUDO'S, JEFF SAXTON AND TEDD REED:

The Halloween Dinner Dance at Blue Front BBQ Bar and Grill in Lake Worth was a huge success, thanks to the efforts of Jeff and Tedd.  It was their vision to bring together a party in the lush gardens of Blue Front Restaurant, with dining and dancing under the stars.  Over 40 Gators showed up to participate in the party or to celebrate an evening of Gator-style Halloween Fun.  DJ Kevin Foster spun the songs that kept Gators dancing and the Costume Contest was the culmination of the enthusiastic participation among many who vied for the prizes.  Thanks, Jeff and Tedd!

Hope to see you happy and often!
