RECENT SOCIAL EVENTS
GATOR CHILI COOK-OFF
If you missed this event, you missed one of the spectacular Gator Gatherings of the year! Nine Gators competed in the Great Chili Cook-Off, preparing their favorite chili recipes: Hillbilly Chili – Patti Bochniak, Gourmet Superbowl Chili – Bonnie Boaz, Hurricane Hash – Liz Loeffler, Rockabilly Chili – Rose Miranda, 100 Proof Irish Chili – Randy Czapkewicz, “HOT” Hint of Tequila Chili – Ben Smith, Spice of Life Chili – Bill Lobb, Roadkill Chili – Paul and Jeanne Galego, and Bobbi-licius Chili – Bobbi Gaugh. The seventy-five Gators who attended tasted and voted for their favorites. The winners were:
First Place – Patti Bochniak – Hillbilly Chili
Second Place – Bobbi Gaugh – Bobbi-licious Chili
Third Place – Rose Miranda – Rockabilly Chili
The Chili Cookers were the stars of this outing and all were awarded
certificates recognizing their outstanding contribution to the day.
In addition, a special “thank you” to Deb Haselmire, who grilled up some fantastic hot dogs with all the fixin’s. Deb has earned bragging rights as
Gator’s premier picnic party planner. If you think this one was great, wait until you see what she has planned for us at the Membership Picnic coming up May 7th!! Definitely, you will want to be there.
The Chili Cook Off was a combined venture of the V.P. of Special Activities and V.P. of Socials. As promised, it turned out to be a "hot, hot, hot," event!
Warmest Regards,
Dorothy Rettay, V.
