ICELAND,,,,,,,

Iceland is truly a land of amazingly diverse natural wonders including scores of majestic waterfalls, incredibly blue glaciers and ice formations, mind boggling geothermal fields and mud pots, fiery volcanoes, eerily strange and fascinating lava formations, and striking black sand beaches standing in contrast to the white waves pounding the shore.

It is a beautiful, clean country full of small picturesque villages where the people are proud of their colorful Viking heritage and where significant portions of the modern day population still believes in trolls, gnomes, fairies, and other hidden people.

Opportunities abound to view Iceland’s wildlife, including adorable puffins and other birdlife, seals, and whales.  The Icelandic horse, with its unique gait, is a treat not to be missed.

Heating and electrical power in Iceland is provided by power plants which harness energy from the geothermal fields.  This power also heats the many spas and lagoons which are staples of Icelandic life.  The Blue Lagoon, outside Reykjavik, is a must have experience when visiting Iceland.

28 LUCKY GATORS GET TO SEE AND DO IT ALL!

A small volcanic island located between the Greenland Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean in the Artic. Iceland is about the size of Kentucky with average temperatures in October ranging from 32 degrees - 50 degrees farenheit.

The Gators will fly into the capital, Reykjavik and have a phenomenal adventure exploring this island from October 25 - 30, 2024. Approximately four-fifths of the country is unpopulated and uninhabitable. Glaciers cover more of the land in Iceland than in all of Europe.

In addition to glaciers, the island has lakes, mountains, a lava desert, lush green areas, and natural hot springs, making Iceland a spectacle of nature. If Iceland is on your bucket list do not miss the opportunity to sign up for this trip.

Cancellation

I understand that the cancellation fee is a MININUM of 5% of the cost up to 150 days from departure.  Within 150 days of departure the cancellation fee is a minimum of 10% of the value of the trip unless I am transferring to another Gator trip of similar genre, one of which I have not previously enrolled in, and within the same fiscal year. I understand that the Club will also hold me accountable for any money paid to outside vendors on my behalf not refunded to the Club due to my cancellation.

Trip Insurance

It is highly advisable to purchase trip insurance for any international trip. You will need to apply and purchase your own trip insurance, which is not included or offered by the Club. Obtaining trip insurance is voluntary, entirely up to you.

As a guidance, we suggest you visit www.insuremytrip.com and choose a comprehensive plan, that covers trip cancellation, medical, trip delays, evacuation, etc and has 24 hour assist hot line.

Keep track of the little footnote that says  “secondary”.   That means that you are expected to have a primary plan and after those benefits are exhausted, your secondary kicks in.   If you have a chronic condition, pay attention to the ”pre-existing”  waiver provisions.
